Glenn Dixon's Going to Run to Victory
Grace attended Victory Junction camp three summers and later numerous young adult weekends. Spencer and Susannah were counselors at camp. It's time for me to do my part.
Following last year's run by Susannah, I opined that a 58 year old, recovering from prostate cancer, who had never run a 5K (me) could beat her time of 28:28. Well, we're going to see, as I am now registered to run and in training.
For those of you who do not know about camp, Victory Junction is a medically safe, yet fun-filled camp where children with serious medical conditions can just be kids and not worry about doctor appointments or if they will be able to join in on the fun… because at camp they can do ANYTHING! The best part is, no family has to worry about the cost of camp because Victory Junction is always free to campers.
In addion to our run competition, Susannah and I are in a competition to raise the most money for VJ camp. Each of us hopes to send one child to camp - $2,500. Please join Team Dixon in this effort. Either sign up to participate or donate to my page to help me raise funds. It’s all about sending kids to camp!
