THE RACE IS ON
Victory Junction is a medically safe, yet fun-filled camp where children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses can just be kids and not worry about doctor appointments. The best part is, no family has to worry about the cost of camp because Victory Junction is always free to campers.
Victory Junction believes that every child, no matter their illness or diagnosis, should enjoy normal childhood experiences. That’s why I am participating in Victory Junction’s 14th Annual Run to Victory to help send kids to camp. It costs $2,500 to send one child to camp.
You all know Victory Junction holds a very special place in my heart. This September, a week before my 23rd birthday, is their annual 5K fundraiser. Last fall I participated in the run and when I crossed the finish line (after many many minutes of running very slowly) I swore off running forever. My dad, who never turns down the opportunity for some family competition and who had recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, vowed he would be healthy enough to compete in this 5K come a years time AND beat my time. We doubled down and decided to race for the best time and the most funds! Who will be victorious? The millennial with social media or the baby boomer with great connections!? Please consider donating to either of us as every dollar will go to supporting the camp my family loves so much!
